At the start of December it was announced that Microsoft had made some changes to the Windows Phone marketplace app search algorithm.
Since then I have seen some fairly radical changes in terms of app downloads, ad impressions and revenue.
Gimme Five for example had over 4 times as many ad impressions last month as it did the previous month.
Gimme Five ad impressions before and after algorithm change:
November 2012: 83,319
December 2012: 334,020
Perhaps there are other external factors at work here, but I’m hoping the new rate of impressions is here to stay!
